Happy Birthday Your Majesty!
The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust and its partners are today adding their voices to those from all over the Commonwealth who are wishing Her Majesty The Queen a happy 90th birthday.
As a gift to The Queen, we have gathered video messages from our partners who work across the Commonwealth to end avoidable blindness, wishing her a very happy 90th birthday.
The Queen’s Young Leaders of 2015 have also contributed to the day’s celebrations by writing personal letters to The Queen, which will be handed to her an a presentation box.
Dr Astrid Bonfield CBE, Chief Executive of The Trust, says:
The Trust was set up in 2012 with a mission to enrich the lives of people from all backgrounds within the Commonwealth by leaving a lasting legacy to honour The Queen. It is a great privilege to now be working in every country within the Commonwealth in tribute to The Queen’s remarkable lifetime of service to its citizens. Our Programmes are well underway and are already making a decisive contribution towards ending avoidable blindness and empowering young leaders in the Commonwealth. On behalf of the Trust and its family of Commonwealth partners, on this special day we wish The Queen a very happy 90th birthday.
Updates to the Trust’s website - www.jubileetribute.org - have also been published today, revealing in more detail how and where the Trust is working across the Commonwealth to: strengthen eye health care, eliminate blinding trachoma, reduce rates of blindness caused as a result of diabetes and premature birth; and to discover and support the next generation of young leaders.
